What is Global option set?

This is used to ensure that whether the hosted control is session-scoped, that is, only displayed in a session, or if the hosted control is Global-scoped, that is it will not be restricted to display the information to a particular session.

 

Scenario-1

This ensures that the hosted control is Global-scoped, that is, it will not be restricted to display the information to a particular session. Here you can see on the below screenshot that the check-box in front of field called “Application is Global” have been marked.

Now, you can see on the below screen-shot that the moment I clicked on the 2nd tab from the right the name of the tab is changed to “Adventure works (sample)” & now the same information which is appearing on the 1st tab {i.e., Account info. – “Adventure works (sample)” information} from right is appearing on the Main Panel i.e., the account “Adventure works (sample)” information.

And the same information will continue across all the tab.

Conclusion

If the check-box is marked this means that the same information {in this case Account, (Adventure works (sample)} will be appear in all the tabs as shown in the above screenshot.

Note: Maximum session that can be allowed for this hosted controls i.e., session tab are “5”, which is currently appearing on the above screen-shot.

This ensures that the hosted control is session-scoped, that is, only displayed in a session. Here you can see on the below screenshot that the check-box in front of field called “Application is Global”  haven’t been marked.

Conclusion

Here, you can see on the above two screen-shots; that I have opened two tabs, the second tab that is “Session: Adventure works (sample)” when opened doesn’t changed the information appearing on first tab { that is “session: A. Datum corporation (sample)”} in the Main Panel, as changed in the previous example.
